The Role of Our School’s Governing Body
Our governing body has a strategic role in the running of our school. This means the whole governing body meet at least once a term to discuss, set and monitor the aims and objectives of the school and review our policies. Our school also has sub-committees which meet whenever required. We work with the Headteacher who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, monitoring performance to ensure that together, we deliver the best quality education for our pupils.
Effective governance allows the governing body to undertake our role of ‘support and challenge’. We support to promote the interests of the school and pupils and challenge by asking questions to drive improvement. Our focus is on raising standards and promoting effective teaching and learning therefore, being a governor is a demanding role but is also a very rewarding one.
